Our Beginning

SEMA was born from a vision to leverage artificial intelligence for meaningful impact. As Computer Science graduates from the University of Ghana, we recognized the transformative potential of AI technology. What started as an academic project exploring AI applications evolved into a mission-driven venture committed to solving real-world challenges.

Upon our graduation in 2022, we founded SEMA with a clear purpose: to harness the power of AI for positive change. With support from Ghana Digital Centres Limited (GDCL), which provided us with co-working space and business training, we transitioned from students to entrepreneurs, bringing together a diverse team of passionate innovators.

Recognition & Growth

Our dedication to innovation has been recognized on multiple fronts. In December 2023, SEMA was selected as one of the top 200 startups from over 1,000 innovative companies across Africa for the Jim Leech Mastercard Foundation Fellowship on Entrepreneurship at Queen's University. This achievement was followed by winning the Google for Startups award, receiving crucial cloud credits to advance our technological development.
